Word of Mouth Wines established in 2003, is an exciting collaboration between two neighbours with existing vineyards on the slopes of Mount Canobolas. Located at a cool 1000 metres above sea level. overlooking the township of Orange.
The two vineyards share a common boundary, soil types, climate, and rainfall. One was established in the early nineties with traditional varieties of Pinot noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Riesling. The other was first planted in 1999 with Pinot Gris and has since added Viognier, giving a total area of eight hectares under vines, with a further four to five hectares to be developed.
Combining the two operations made economic sense, and with the appointment of Lowe Family Wine Company as wine makers, there is a perfect synergy of aged vines, great cool climate location, traditional and new varieties, with passionate and innovative wine making.
